Circuit Assembly - Studies - photos

Hi everyone :D

Hope everyone is well :) thank you all for your emails and lovely comments. We love hearing from you all, it really is a boost of encouragement to us, so please keep it up :)

So this past week has been amazing and hot as well. We had the privilege of being the host CONG ("congregation" for those in the US of A    ;P) for the Circuit Assembly, so we had the privilege of having the C.O and D.O with us for a week. There where so many encouraging points brought out and awesome ways to be more effective in our ministry. I got the privilege of taking the D.O to my new study, Manuel, which is a young boy (13) soaking up the truth and loving the studies we are having. We had a great time.
We had our Pioneer Day on Friday which was AMAZING... very encouraging... the focus was on "Joy", and that it comes from within us because its a fruitage of the spirit. There where many points that showed us how to cultivate Joy and when to use it and in what way to use it.
Sarah put such a great effort in to understand what was being said... I wrote down as many points as I could and shared them with her at the end of the day. She soaked it all up. She is doing so great in keeping her Joy even though its so very hard when your learning a language... such a big encouragement for me to work as hard as I can :D
Friday afternoon I helped in the setting up for the Circuit Assembly which they had in a Mini Stadium... it was very simple but they say it was a massive improvement from the year before... They plan to improve it even more so for next time... The brother keep trying to do there best, so faith strengthening...
It was so funny on the Sunday of the Assembly they announced that if anyone could help with the packing up and cleaning it would much appreciated and that they would start packing up around 30min after the session ended so there would be time to encourage one another... well as soon as the prayer finished all the "brother" started packing up the chairs and the stage and everything... they where so quick... taking bags of chairs and everything... there was so much help... I closed my eyes for 2 seconds and all the chairs where gone and the sisters had started sweeping... well it wasn't that fast but you get the point :D
Anyways Bro David (who got assigned from the couples school to our cong about 8 months ago) and me where like, "Whats going on... didn't they announce that we would pack up 30min after, so we can converse and be encouraged a bit??"
well the reason it got done so quick was that the stadium they hired for the Assembly happened to be a Soccer (football) Stadium with a few fields so play soccer, and of course there as a big match about to start in 30min... CONG vs CONG hahahahah well brothers & sisters vs brothers & sisters. ahhahaha so in a way there would be conversing and we hope there was encouragement too hahaha

It was funny.

We miss you all and Love you all every much.

Here are some more photos :)

PHOTOS... PHOTOS... and a bit of an update :D

Hello all,

So it has been a busy week... WE MOVED IN TO OUR NEW HOME :D wooohoooo... and we moved in on Wednesday morning... was a bit rushed but it worked out well :) we have our little fridge, stove and washing machine :) we bought a mattress on the day we moved in.... and the brothers that live right next to us have leant us a bed frame and a little table with two chairs :D hehehe so we are set... safe to say mums big box of gifts have helped us settle in really quick.

Sarah is loving the new kitchen and cooking up a storm while I eat as if there is a storm coming hehehe. It truly has been a blessing from Jehovah how everything has worked out. So smooth with no real problems :)

WE BOUGHT A MOTOKAR hehehe which a lot of you know it as a Tuk Tuk... a three wheeled motorbike :) We bought it so we could save on taxi rides everywhere, also to get to our Studies and Return Visit easier instead of walking everywhere... it has been a huge help.

So the ministry... It has still been awesome... Sarah has 2 studies now and she is doing so well with them.. the way it works here is you visit them nearly ever couple of days for a study... and same goes with return visit... it is great. We will be going to one of Sarah's studies this afternoon. We are looking forward to it :) My ministry is going awesome as well... I went back to a return visit that was meant to be a girl but I got her brother, I talk to him a bit and showed him the Great Teacher book and he said he would love to have a study... I am going back to him tomorrow afternoon with the brother from France, Thomas. We also met 3 people on one map the other day that said their home all day, everyday, and would love us to go visit and have a study whenever... the only trouble is there a bit far away.... oh wait thats why we have the motorKar :D hehehe

Saturday during the meeting there was a storm and the electricity was going on and off during the meeting... which is a problem because the meeting is during the night ahahha... so the brother was using a phone as a light to conduct the watchtower and everyone had to yell out there answers... was an amazing experience... and the highlight was when we sang the last song without music... it sounded beautiful :D it was a fun night :D

Anyways here are some more photos as promised :D

PHOTOS - AND A BIT OF AN UPDATE

HELLO EVERYONE

We miss you all.
Sorry I am a bit short on time at the moment to give you all a full update... but all I can say is since our last post I have started 2 bible study's and Sarah has started 1, she is super excited :) Sarah is doing super great with the language and everyday she amazes me more and more. We have been blessed so much in our ministry... its tough at times with the heat but we are finding ways to adapt, but the blessing far out way the challenges :) Even the challenges turn into blessing as we see Jehovahs hand in helping us adapt and keep going.

Sarah has been giving great answers in the meetings... I am just trying to keep up with her hahahaha.... I did have the lovely privilege of doing a Demo the other night and I just hope that at least someone understood me hahahah.....
I am even more nervous as I have been asked to do something big in the next couple of weeks... I will let you guys know later on about that :)

We had some exciting news come to us today... My cousin Micheal got baptised in a Convention in Calca, which is a city near Cusco, Peru. Pat (my other cousin) and Micheal have been helping out with a congregation there. Anyways, it was happy news indeed.

Our house has been fully repainted and it looks amazing, we feel really blessed. We got the keys on Monday and we have been moving things in bit by bit. Mum sent us some goodies for the house from Lima and that was a huge blessing because we pretty much do not need to buy much little things at all now.  My mum has been helping Sarah to learn spanish by giving her some spanish lessons.. she is doing one right now over Skype :)

Anyways here are some photos of what it looks like out witnessing, our new home and a bit of the city, hope you enjoy them and we love you all very much.

We will update photos as we go along :)

WOW so much TO say ;D

Hello all,

Wow. So where do I begin. We have to apologise in advance if our blog posts are a bit delayed. We will try our best to keep you all posted.
So lets start where we left off....
So Thursday we went out witnessing for a few hours in the morning... the heat was not too bad. We had a great morning with a heap of interest as usual. There is this amazing pioneer couple from France here that we got the chance to work with that morning. There names are Thomas and Jocelyne and Thomas' sister Marro who only arrived 2 months ago. Thomas and Jocelyne have not been here to long either but they have been in and out serving in Peru for a few years now. They have heaps of studies and are doing great with the language. Marro, is doing amazing considering she pretty much just got here. Its been so good having them around as we are able to learn so much from them and how they having been adjusting to life here. Another amazing couple is the Segundo's who have been to the Couple School (which has changed now) and they where assigned to Banda De Shilcayo 8 months ago as special pioneers. Bro David Segundo is originally from Spain and him and his wife have been serving in Peru and Spain for quite some years. They are also such a blessing from Jehovah for us. We have really felt that our prayers have been answered by Jehovah because a year ago when we when we made the decision to serve where there is a greater need and come to Tarapoto we prayed to Jehovah asking to be in an area where there would be other missionaries from other lands so we can bounce of them and learn from them. Well we where told that we would be the only ones. So we said ok no worries Jehovah will take care of us, and HE HAS because within that year these 5 brothers and sister (Spiritual Giants) have arrived!!

Anyways so what happened after field service on Thursday. Well, first we had a massive prayer to Jehovah and we went to look for a house to rent... well we originally where going to check out a house on the rental market but the man in charge didn't come... so the brothers we where with said that there is a sister with a little house looking for some one. So we headed over there. Well... it was perfect... just big enough for us... and in a safe neighbourhood... and the sister and her husband live right next door and their aunty lives on the other side of the house... so surrounded by witnesses :D what more can you ask for... well since you asked Josh... that sister (Laura) is supporting the sign language group here with her husband.. which we wanted to help out maybe down the track... oh and Laura knows how to make clothes ... and Sarah wanted and was talking about make her own clothes but wanted some one to teach her..
But wait theres more... its only a 5min walk from the kingdom hall... they are installing a new kitchen as I type.... they are going to paint the outside and inside according to what we wanted (with our help)... Laura has worked in the field of medicine for years... Her husband Cesar went to the school for single brothers... Oh and all for half the price of that the other one was going to cost.
There is so much more to this experience but I just can't fit it all in.

Jehovah is amazing. So that settles the house issue... we are moving in next Monday :)
So what has been happening in the ministry?? Well on Friday we went out to a town about 15min away and well on the first door we did we got a man that said, "Come to my house just down the road, meet me there in 5min, I want to talk to you guys about the bible." So we went down to his house and we sat down and his daughter-in-law sat down with us and we had a mini study with them but the daughter-in-law was loving it... reading all the paragraphs and scriptures and getting the message.. was beautiful to watch... anyways after about 1hour we left to join up with the rest... down the road we got a young man working and we (Sarah and I) talked to him about the tract and he seemed super interested and invited him to come along to meeting and he said he would love to. We hope he comes along :)
Saturday (where i accidentally wore my slippers out witno) we went to a small town about 30min away and there the people where a bit more tougher to preach too but we (young brother and I) got a lovely young lady home, that after we talked about the tract wanted to know more so we showed her the brochure Good News and had a little study with her and she said she would like to have a study but she lives in Tarapoto.. so we invited her to the meeting and she said she would see if she can make it.
Saturday night we had the meeting and that was awesome but the heat was terrible... we have decided that we will sit in front of the fans next meeting hahahah

Sunday (today) well.... this was amazing... we went to help a congregation up in a town called Lames which is about 45min and today they where trying to help the people that spoke in the native tongue of Quechua (one type anyways, there are 40 different languages in Peru). It was awesome. I worked with Sarah and every door that we did (minus a little boy) we started a study and AGREED to continue with the study next week on Sunday. One man said that he lives 15min away but he will meet us there at his friends house next week :) One lady we talked to was so touched by the tract because she had lost someone in death and was deeply sad about it.. she is waiting for us to return... the other lady was very interested in what is the true religion and we explained a bit about that and she agreed and wants to know more. So we where out this morning for 4 hours but only did 4 doors hahahaha...

Anyways... it has been truly a few momentous days for us... and very hot days too... one day was 34 but had the feeling of 39... that was tough but with Jehovahs holy spirit WE MADE IT ... to the next hot day hahahaha... no but it truly is a blessing to be here and the family we have been staying with as well as the congregation have been helping us soooo much.

I finally bought some short sleeve shirts for meetings and witnessing... that has made a massive difference... next thing on the list to buy... a FAN for the room... hahahaha

We send our love to you all and wish you where all here with us.
Please keep in contact... been loving your emails and beautiful comments.. they really have encouraged as and help us keep going along in Jehovahs service.

Lots of Love,
Josh and Sarah

First DAY AHHHHHHH

Hello ALL :D

So the first day out witnessing... yeah... WOW
I was super nervous about going witnessing and was praying so much to Jehovah all day. So field service started at 7:45am and we worked at a territory where people are living on someone else's property.. not quite legal but there is a lot of interest. I worked with Bro Jamie.. and he pretty much started a study and had great chats with people. So amazing. Sarah worked along side Sis Flor, Bro Jamie's wife, and she started a study as well... all before 9:30am... YEaH i KnoW... awesome territory :D

So anyways it started to rain and we left the territory and went home to rest and had a beautiful lunch with the family. We ate Lomo Saltado, which is a very traditional Peruvian meal.
At 5:00pm we arrived at Plaza Bando de Shilcayo (which is like a city square in the area) to meet the group for field service. We met Bro Obed and it was just us for a while, which meant that Sarah and I worked together. We/I was super nervous... because my spanish isn't that good yet, but Sarah was there to push me along and support me.. it was funny because i would stand at the door thinking and anxious to knock and then Sarah would just come up and ring the door bell and knock for me hahahhahah... she is pushing me along hahah she is awesome.
So we where out only for around 2 hours and we got 2 return visits and I started a study with a lovely man that just said, "Just come over whenever you can and talk to me about the bible." YeAh WOW indeed...
Super cool day, and there is so much need here. So come along anyone and everyone :)

Tomorrow we start looking for a place to rent. We are super excited.
Something funny... We have had headaches since we got here and we where wondering why... maybe not drinking enough water... our the heat... well after having a chat with Mumma Raymond (Sarah's mum) we figured out what is was....
COFFEE hahahhaha we haven't had coffee hahaha so its good and bad... getting off the kick hahaha...
But here is the funny bit.... out of innocence Mumma Raymond said, "Why don't you just go to a cafe and get a cappuccino??" awww she's so sweet. Made us laugh hard... we are in the middle of the jungle and in a place that's selling bananas on the side of the street, there are no cafe's in sight hahahaha. It was a cute conversation.
Maybe thats a business we could do?? never know.

Anyways hope this was entertaining and encouraging as you all have encouraged us. Thank you all for your lovely comments and emails. Keep them coming :)

Till next time.

We love you all,
Josh and Sarah

PERU - Finally we have ARRIVED

Hello all :)
We would like to start this post off by sending our love to you all and we miss you all dearly. Please pass that on to any of our friends that might not be able to see this blog such as Sisters Tony, Wilsie, Josie and the Santa Cruiz's, and many more. Thank you.

So we arrived in Lima Peru last week... Spent some time with my (Josh's) family which was lovely and they all loved Sarah... as we all do. It was lovely to be with them and explain what we where going to be doing in Peru because they are not all Witnesses, but they are all very supportive of our assignment and very happy for us, which is nice and a very good witness.

We arrived in Bethel in Lima, Peru, on Sunday and stayed there for two nights. It was such a lovely experience and privilege to meet our dear brothers and sisters and be part of such a lovely spiritual routine even if it was only for a few days. Bro&Sis Liza helped so very much with getting around and meeting brothers and also with all the paperwork stuff and helpful information about our assignment... which I need as much help as i can get. hahahahaha. We met so many lovely, faithful brothers and sisters there and some that have been serving Jehovah in full time service for over 60years!!!! Their experiences and faith have really encouraged us and have helped us so much.
Everyone was telling us that Tarapoto is beautiful and that we will love it... but that its hot... and they asked us if we like hot weather..... well .... some of us know how Sarah is with hot weather, and I am not a happy chappy in the heat either. So we said, 'YEAH... not really' hahahaha but we know we will still love it and we are super excited to go. They told us that there would be heaps of waterfalls and rivers to cool down, which is awesome... we will be there everyday and just preach from there... hahahah...
Anyways, besides worries about coping with the heat, which we are not really too worried about, we got many helpful tips of what to do and how to live in Tarapoto from the Service Department and many other loving brothers. Safe to say all our questions where answered and that felt like a blessing from Jehovah to us. We continue to see his hand in everything we do which gives us so much faith and trust in him being there for us. It truly is like the daily text of yesterday which had the point that we need to be moving forward to get Jehovah's guidance and direction in which way to go and sometimes that doesn't come till the very last moment but we just need to keeping moving forward in our service to him and pray. We have felt that and his support so much, its very encouraging to us.

So today we left Bethel just after morning worship. It was sad to say goodbye as it always is but we know we will see them soon. We feel so happy to have the brothers and sisters support from Bethel.
The taxi ride to the airport was longer than our flight to Tarapoto because of the traffic hahahaha.
The flight to Tarapoto was lovely and was awesome to see the changes in the land as we got closer and closer to Tarapoto... we went from desert - hills - mountains - snow capped mountains - bush - then finally jungle. We will post some photos up soon either here or on Goolge +
As we where arriving in Tarapoto the captain announced that it was 34 degrees Celsius!!! but we where not worried hahhaha... maybe a little... once we got of the plane though we where like, 'This is not to bad at all.' It was hot but not unbearable... YET hahaha maybe it was just the excitement.
The Lozano Family was waiting to meet us.They are such a lovely family that took us to there house and had a room ready for us. Very hospitable family. The heat finally hit us when we got to their house. hahahah.... so we have been resting this afternoon.

We starting the ministry tomorrow and we will keep you updated as we go along.
Thank-you all for your support and we love you all very much... please keep in contact with us.

Our Amazing Time in L.A with our dear Brother and Sisters

Hello all :D

So here is an update on our trip to Peru. We have been in L.A for three weeks now and have been spending our time with the Cypress Cong. We have been so blessed to meet such beautiful people. Since we arrived we have felt at home.
Just before we went to the first meeting we prayed to Jehovah so send us to a congregation that we can have a large part in the ministry and as soon as we walked in two elders where there to meet us (Bro Indies & Bro Swisher) and the very first thing they said to us was, "Here are three pioneers!" and pointed to B.R.E (Brandon, Ryan and Eddie) from that moment on we have had friends that we will love forever.

Other friends that have made us feel are like family are the Cottons family, Gary and Joanne, Sis Lou, the Taylors, Margaret (who loves turtles), the Warners, Para, Bro Briggs, Jerry and so many more brothers and sisters from the Cypress Cong. We love you all and we thank you.

They where so lovely that we never needed to worries about how we would get anywhere because they all helped in picking us up for the ministry and meetings as well as social events. Such a beautiful spirit the whole congregation had. As Eddie would say, "Hebrews.13:16" and we truly felt that during our entire stay.

We where super impressed with there early witno groups. They would start at 7am!!! everyday of the week and there where always a heap out including sisters. Little Lacey Cotton, who is a pioneer sister that was always out in early work when she could, would pick us up and we enjoyed spending time with such a beautiful person. Her family is such a lovely example to all. Tom Cotton (Dad) took us out surfing which was a blast. Jess and Joey Cotton joined Brandon, Kyle and us to Magic Mountain which was the best theme park we have every been too... Sarah couldn't get enough of the rides, we had such a good time. Heidi (Mum) took us and the two girls Lacey and Jess (twins) to Santa Monica pier/beach which was beautiful and also to Malibu, Bell Air and Hollywood for dinner. That was a fun day.

Now time to tell you a bit about B.R.E ... (Brandon, Ryan and Eddie) these three boys introduced us to some of the biggest hamburgers we had ever seen in our life... they also made us laugh all the time in the ministry. We had some great and funny experiences in the field with these boys. Brandon told a Trinitarian that his bible was wrong, Eddie couldn't pass a study onto Lacey because ... well... we don't know why.... and Ryan well Ryan just made us laugh. There are so many details we would love to share with you all but all in all we have to say that these boys have been a real encouragement to us because of the faithful activity in putting Jehovah first in there life. They wish to go to Bethel and we pray that they do get to go.

Joanne and Gary are a beautiful couple that love DisneyLand and safe to say they are little kids at heart. Joanne took us to Lagoona Beach which was beautiful, she also made us the most amazing lasagne. There life story and example have been so ever encouraging to us.

We have had such a lovely time with the Cypress Cong and have experienced love from these brothers and sisters more than we could have ever imagined... we have learnt so much from them by spending time in the ministry with them and socialising with them and just listening to there life experiences. We have heard so many amazing stories that just builds your faith in Jehovah so much more. The time we have spent here with the Cypress Cong has been such a blessing from Jehovah that has boosted us up even more for our assignment in Peru.

We will cherish this time we have had and will never forget the lovely friends we have made and hope to see them very soon again.
What a wonderful Organisation we are all a part of and all glory goes to our loving father Jehovah.

For all our friends in Australia we send our love and miss you all dearly... we remember all your support to us and kind words and deeds you have done for us and that helps us to keep going in Jehovahs service. So we hope we can give a little back to you all by sending some of our journey to you.

We love you all,
Josh and Sarah
